Made right here in Kolkata, for one of the city’s high-end residences. And yes! we heard SRK owns a flat in the same apartment. So, naturally, that became a fun little thought while we were working on it. We were approached by Morph Lab with a brief we loved — abstract, non-figurative, contemporary, and light.

The apartment sits on the 32nd floor, where the breeze is, quite honestly, CRAZY! We wanted to bring a little bit of that feeling into the space. Rattan felt like the perfect material — light, flexible and wonderfully expressive. We shaped it into flowing ribbons, almost as if they were being carried by an invisible breeze. After many iterations, experiments and conversations, ANILA came to life. What we love about it is that your eye never really stops. It follows the curves, folds and movement of the ribbons — much like the way your mind wanders when you sit quietly and feel a good breeze. We also played with a brown ombré, letting the colour deepen through the folds before slowly returning to the natural rattan at the ends. A project full of experiments, good conversations and a whole lot of fun — made even better by an amazing team of architects and clients who gave us complete creative freedom and trusted us with the process.
